The Map Room, a blog about maps and cartography posted an article with links to a longer Christian Science Monitor about Georgia's decision to remove 488 small communities from it's official map. I haven't studied the issue enough to have a strong opinion, but there's something sad about the disappearance of these former towns and villages, such as Sandtown, off the map.
The article is here (click this link to visit).
The complete list of affected towns is here.
Couldn't get links to work-did anyone else have this prob? Is there any recourse on the map issue? Off Topic, was that you on the Ga retailer site disputing my memory of walking across a ?pedestrian bridge at Stewart Lakewood? I'll try to do more research. Please keep us posted on the cycling.

It wasn't me on the Ga retailer site. What pedestrian bridge was the dispute over? I never went to Stewart Lakewood shopping center much, but I did spend a good bit of time at 72 lanes bowling alley in the 1960s, which was very nearby.
I'll check the links.
