The term pink slime is simply a label conoccted to be useful as a pejorative in a scare campaign. In fact it is all-beef (almost kosher) sausage without the casing. All it needs to become kosher is the supervision of a rabbi during its preparation. It certainly has a lot fewer live insects in it than the last organic salad I was served.
