Frankly, our cat would prefer that my entire garden consist of catnip

Needless to say he loves the stuff.  The photo is him reminding me when I came in from working the garden that I forgot to bring his sprig of catnip.  His other suggestion is that I start growing catnip indoors.  He promises he'd help me cultivate it.

Today I mowed the grass in the front yard,  dumped half the clippings into the compost heap, which I then turned, and spread the remaining clippings onto a tarp to dry.

Today three of my seed plantings have begun to sprout after three days in the raised bed.  Two are, predictably, radishes (Cherry Belle and French Breakfast).  Radishes are the instant gratification vegetable.  They sprout quickly and mature quickly.  The third was Kohlrabi.  This is the first time I've grown Kohlrabi, so I didn't know what to expect.  Now I know it sprouts quickly, anyhow.

Our yard isn't very big, but my goal is to have it planted from the street to the back property line, mostly with edible plants (attractive ones in the front, more ungainly ones to the rear of the house).  My other goal is gardening twelve months of the year, which in Georgia is quite possible, even if it isn't always pleasant.  It's a lot more palatable working in the yard in May than it is in February.

Cats, with their sharp claws, might be good at soil aeration. :)

That's good to know about radishes. I need to try something that'll grow quickly so that I won't forget about it. What sorts of things will you be growing in the winter?

Hi, Berni! My plan is to keep the cool weather vegetables (lettuce, beets, spinach, kohlrabi, kale, etc) going as long as possible by heavy mulching and possibly setting up cold frames. I've had really good luck with swiss chard in Georgia winters, too.

Haha! What a cute cat you have there. I brought home a tiny catnip plant two weeks ago for my two cats. I placed the catnip on a very hard to reach counter. I woke up the next morning to find my cats rolling and purring all over my kitchen. Turns out, they were able to knock the plant over, and got into all of the catnip. Way to go me, right? Thanks for sharing this awesome post!

This topic can go both either if you think about it. I think it more hadrer to both a man or woman. In this day an time most people thats single may say it's difficult to find a good man. You first have to determine the qualities in which you're seeking in the specific individual because some women standards of wanting a good man can be high. Also that waiver the factor if the woman is willing to lower her standards, its really not that hard to do unless the woman has been involved in a bad relationship then it's understandable. Some of the Good Men have not been given a apportunity to express themselves to the right woman due to the fact of being overlooked simply because his bank account doesn't exceeds the woman. Most Gems or Diamonds in the ruff is yet to be displayed to so many people who wants a good mate an it's not just the married or down low brothers that affect this problem it's the women too who want other women. How can you tell if a hot looking Babe that has the qualities a man is looking for in a woman an he gets doop cuz she's not intrested in men. So it's Hard for both male an female. The question you must ask is are you Gay before advancing another step in seeking a mate an then just be straight up an honest about what you're looking for in eachother an not play any games with people feeling or emotions.
