I spent a bit of time this morning wandering around the park on 17th Street in Atlantic Station. I was very favorably impressed. The park is partially ringed by the condos on its western edge. The view of the skyline of Midtown looking to the east is currently spectacular, although I'm not sure how it will be affected by the continuing buildout. I didn't photograph the skyline, as it was into the sun when I took the shots. I'll get by one afternoon and do a whole set of skyline shots, from the park and other locations in Atlantic Station.
I've created a photo album on the park, but I'm not sure my photos quite do the park justice. I think this is a very good park with a very urban feel, even though it's still basically a park in a construction site. I'm really glad that the designers didn't attempt anything more grandiose. I am certain that the residents of Atlantic Station and from Home Park and across the bridge in Midtown will come to view this park as a wonderful amenity.
