Cyburbia is a very interesting website, notable for a very active set of forums of interest to professional planners. Non-planners such as myself have been welcomed and treated well on the cyburbia forums, but now a new cyburbia forum has been set up entitled Citizen Planners specifically for activists and officials at the local level who are involved with the sorts of land use, zoning, and transportation issues which are typically the focus of professional planners, but are not themselves planning professionals. This forum as has a lot of potential for citizen activists drawing on the experiences of people in other geographic areas, and also provides a forum where citizen activists and professional planners can interact and gain a better understanding of each other's activities.
